The Giants won just one of their first six games to start the 2018 season, but there have been a few bright spots, most notably rookie running back Saquon Barkley. The second overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft registered more than 100 yards from scrimmage in each of the team’s first six games. This ranks as the second-best streak to begin a career, behind only Kareem Hunt, who reached seven games in 2017.

During the team’s week 6 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Barkley recorded 229 yards from scrimmage, the most by a rookie in Giants history. He also became the first Giants player to register a 40-yard pass reception and 40-yard rush in the same game since Tiki Barber did so in 2004.

Emphasizing his week-to-week consistency, Barkley was nominated for the Pepsi Rookie of the Week award in five of the first six weeks of the season.
